# Saudi Arabia restaurant delivery downtime: July 2026 benchmark > In July 2026, restaurant listings in Saudi Arabia monitored by Kitchain, almost all on HungerStation, were offline for 2.88 percent of their stated trading hours. Most of that comes from a small persistently offline group: excluding the roughly 6 percent of listings that were offline more than 90 percent of the month, the rate was 0.77 percent. Source: Kitchain monitoring of a panel almost entirely on HungerStation, 1.09 million monitored trading hours. A listing is one restaurant location on one delivery platform. Full report: https://kitchain.co/ksa-delivery-downtime-report/ ## Headline numbers, July 2026, Saudi Arabia - Panel: nearly all listings on HungerStation. 31,357 trading hours lost of 1.09 million monitored. - Downtime rate: 2.88 percent panel wide, 0.77 percent excluding persistently offline listings. - 5.6 percent of the panel was offline more than 90 percent of the month, consistent with delisted or long term closed locations still present in the platform catalogue. - Incidents are rare but long: 2,295 incidents, mean length 12 hours 24 minutes, or 5 hours once the persistently offline listings are excluded. The comparable trimmed figure for the UAE panel the same month was 2 hours 18 minutes, so incidents here ran about twice as long on a like for like basis. - 46.8 percent of listings had zero downtime. 8.1 percent lost more than 20 hours each. ## Distribution across listings - Zero downtime: 46.8 percent of listings - Under 1 hour: 14.2 percent - 1 to 5 hours: 18.5 percent - 5 to 20 hours: 12.4 percent - Over 20 hours: 8.1 percent ## Timing - 81 percent of unexpected offline incidents began between 22:00 and 02:00 local time (2,266 of 2,782 timestamped incident starts). Busiest hours: 23:00 (731 events) and midnight (705). - By weekday, per calendar day: Saturday was worst at 1,347 lost hours per Saturday, then Sunday 1,221, Friday 1,188, Thursday 1,033, Monday 888, Tuesday 811, Wednesday 636. Raw weekday totals are not comparable because July 2026 had five Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The heaviest days fall on and around the Saudi weekend of Friday and Saturday. ## Recurrence Panel wide the Saudi sample recorded 2,702 offline incidents, of which 2,295 were on HungerStation and the remainder on platforms too small to report separately. Of the listings with any downtime, 14 percent went offline on 5 or more separate days (7.3 percent of all listings measured). 23 percent of affected listings had downtime on 2 to 4 days, 63 percent on a single day. ## Methodology Outside-in monitoring: Kitchain reads the same public storefront page a customer opens. Each listing is checked on a repeating cycle around the clock, about every 10 minutes. Downtime is counted only inside the location's stated trading hours (a store closed on schedule is not an incident). Overnight schedules are handled: for a store trading past midnight the early morning hours belong to its stated window, and an outage is capped at the window's end. Incidents are confirmed by a repeat check. No point of sale integration, no marketplace login, no platform API access. ## Scope and limitations - Coverage: Saudi Arabia, 1 to 31 July 2026. Platform level figures describe HungerStation, which is nearly the whole panel. Other Saudi platforms were too small to report. - The panel is the set of restaurants monitored by Kitchain, not a random sample of the whole Saudi market. - All figures are aggregates. No individual restaurant or brand data is disclosed. Availability only. - Figures are refreshed as new full months close. Last update: 26 August 2026.
