Full report: https://kitchain.co/uae-delivery-downtime-report/ ## Downtime rate by platform (share of stated trading hours offline, July 2026) - Careem Food: 2.94 percent (mean incident 3 h 08 min) - Deliveroo: 2.28 percent (mean incident 3 h 10 min) - Talabat: 1.81 percent (mean incident 3 h 34 min) - Keeta: 1.02 percent (mean incident 2 h 32 min) - Noon Food: 0.74 percent (mean incident 1 h 50 min) The same restaurant is typically listed on several platforms and its availability differs on each. 38,830 offline incidents were recorded across the panel, mean length about 3 hours. ## Distribution across listings - Zero downtime: 36.5 percent of listings - Under 1 hour: 10.7 percent - 1 to 5 hours: 25.4 percent - 5 to 20 hours: 21.8 percent - Over 20 hours: 5.7 percent ## Timing - 64 percent of unexpected offline incidents began between 22:00 and 04:00 local time (19,576 of 30,594 timestamped incident starts). These hours are inside the stated trading windows of stores that operate past midnight, since downtime outside stated hours is not counted at all. Busiest single hour for incident starts: 01:00. - Failures to open on schedule are a separate category: 3,759 recorded in July (2,906 stores that did not come online within the check window after stated opening, 853 that opened late). - By weekday, per calendar day: Tuesday was worst at 4,992 lost hours per Tuesday, then Thursday 4,928, Wednesday 4,238, Friday 3,194, Monday 3,191, Saturday 2,671, Sunday 2,402. Raw weekday totals are not comparable because July 2026 had five Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and four of every other weekday. ## Excluding persistently offline listings Excluding listings that were offline more than 90 percent of the month, which is the profile of a location that has left the platform while its listing stays in the catalogue, the rate for the rest of the panel was 1.26 percent and the mean offline incident lasted 2 hours 18 minutes. The same trim is applied to every market Kitchain reports, so figures are comparable across countries. ## Recurrence Of the listings with any downtime, 21 percent went offline on 5 or more separate days of the month (13.4 percent of all listings measured). 43 percent of affected listings had downtime on 2 to 4 days, 36 percent on a single day. Repeated failures at the same hour and weekday indicate a systematic cause rather than random noise. ## Methodology Outside-in monitoring: Kitchain reads the same public storefront page a customer opens. Each listing is checked on a repeating cycle around the clock, about every 10 minutes. Downtime is counted only inside the location's stated trading hours (a store closed on schedule is not an incident). Overnight schedules are handled: for a store trading past midnight the early morning hours belong to its stated window, and an outage is capped at the window's end. Incidents are confirmed by a repeat check before being counted. No point of sale integration, no marketplace login, no platform API access. ## Scope and limitations - Coverage: UAE, 1 to 31 July 2026. Platforms with samples too small to be meaningful were excluded. - The panel is the set of restaurants monitored by Kitchain, not a random sample of the whole UAE market. - All figures are aggregates. No individual restaurant or brand data is disclosed. - Availability only. Order volume and revenue are not measured. - Figures are refreshed as new full months close. Last update: 26 August 2026.
