Monitor Your Restaurants on Glovo
Glovo is Delivery Hero's Barcelona-based delivery marketplace, live in 21 countries across Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia and Africa as of August 2026. For a restaurant chain it is one consumer app that also sells groceries and pharmacy, with a Manager Portal for menus, promotions and reviews. This page covers Glovo's markets, ownership and partner tools, and how Kitchain monitors your Glovo listings from the outside.

What Kitchain watches on Glovo
About Glovo
Glovo was founded in Barcelona in 2015 as an app that would deliver anything; restaurants are its core vertical alongside groceries, retail, pharmacies and florists in one app. It is owned by Delivery Hero SE, and on 16 July 2026 Uber announced a takeover offer for Delivery Hero at EUR 41.50 per share; the offer document followed on 27 August and acceptance runs to 5 November. If it closes, expected in the second half of 2027, Glovo Spain, Portugal, Poland, Romania and Moldova pass to SSW Partners and the remaining 16 markets go to Uber. No market has changed hands yet.
Spain is the home market, and the market where the rider model changed: Glovo has employed its Spanish riders since July 2025, and eight months later announced 750 layoffs and a withdrawal from more than 60 towns, with about 800 cities still served. Couriers are gig contractors in most other markets. A restaurant can list with delivery by Glovo couriers, self-deliver while staying on the marketplace, offer in-store pickup, or use Glovo's on-demand courier service for orders taken through its own channels; the same listing sits in one app beside supermarkets, pharmacies and shops.
Partners manage listings in the web Manager Portal at portal.glovoapp.com and in a Glovo Manager Portal mobile app that covers order tracking, one-tap item availability, price edits, cancellation and rating metrics, review replies, discounts and Glovo-run campaigns. Glovo is migrating Spanish partners to a newer order app, Pelican, on Glovo-supplied Sunmi terminals or the partner's own Android device, with every store address ID activated separately. Glovo Ads sells pay-per-click placement in search results, homepage listings and sponsored slots through to checkout, and Delivery Hero now offers Glovo restaurants an agentic AI merchant assistant. Glovo publishes no commission rate card: rates are agreed per contract, with delivery orders charged above pickup.
Where Glovo operates
As of August 2026 Glovo's own site lists 21 active countries, and the weight of the business now sits well beyond western Europe: six African markets together account for about a quarter of it, and the markets Glovo itself calls fastest-growing include Nigeria and wartime Ukraine. Spain remains the home market; the notes below carry per-market detail — city counts, the Spanish rider change, where Glovo Prime is offered.

Kitchain on Glovo: six monitors, one outside-in method
Kitchain reads the same public Glovo pages a customer opens. There is no partner-portal login, no API key and no point-of-sale integration: you give us one listing per location, and each monitor reads what the customer is shown. Availability is checked about every 10 minutes per listing; ratings, promotions and menus are captured daily; listing position is measured at set times of day from real addresses; delivery coverage is captured for the platform and hour you book.
Glovo downtime and availability alerts: Kitchain Alert
Live on Glovo
A closed store does not disappear from Glovo: the app keeps the listing but greys out the picture, and no order can be placed. That is what a customer sees when the tablet that takes orders — in Spain increasingly the Pelican app — is switched off at closing and never switched back on, or when the hours Glovo shows drift from the hours you set. From head office every case of Glovo downtime looks the same: nothing errors, orders simply stop.
Kitchain Alert opens the same public Glovo listing a customer opens, about every 10 minutes per location, 24/7, and alerts you by email, WhatsApp or Telegram 10–20 minutes after a store goes offline outside its scheduled hours, after a confirmation check. Each outage is logged with start, end and duration, and a daily report at 10:00 local time ranks locations by lost uptime. Kitchain never signs in to the Manager Portal and cannot reopen a store.

Glovo rating tracking: Kitchain Rating
Live on Glovo
Glovo's public score has historically been a thumbs-up percentage with no written reviews, so a chain could only watch the number move. Since January 2026 Glovo has been rolling out Verified Reviews with photos, written text and separate scores for food quality and delivery, which gives customers more to read and a weak branch more ways to be marked down. Partners see ratings and answer reviews in the Manager Portal, store by store, where a five-week slide never looks alarming on any single day.
Kitchain Rating records the rating and review count Glovo displays publicly for every location, daily, and builds the history from that: stores under your target, week-on-week movement, a leaderboard across the estate, and the same data for the other apps the kitchen sells through. Glovo rating monitoring reads only the public listing; Kitchain does not collect review text and cannot change a score.

Glovo promotion monitoring: Kitchain Promo
Live on Glovo
Glovo promotions run from the Manager Portal, where partners set in-app discounts and join Glovo-run campaigns; restaurants can also be Glovo Prime partners, giving subscribers free delivery, while Glovo Ads sells sponsored slots in search and on the homepage. Each is a budget line, and each can stop showing without anything failing on your side: a campaign created centrally that never went live for one store, a discount set at one value and displayed at another, a free-delivery label gone after a listing edit.
Kitchain Promo captures what a customer can see on every Glovo listing once a day, on the same visit that checks availability, and records a day with no promotions as a result in its own right. The change feed shows what appeared, disappeared or changed value since yesterday, an alert fires when an expected campaign is missing, and competitor benchmarking shows who discounts harder nearby. An offer that comes and goes within one day can be missed.

Where you rank in the Glovo listing: Kitchain Visibility
Configured per account
Glovo's feed is crowded and local: the app lists restaurants beside supermarkets and pharmacies, adds an AI-curated Discovery Wall tab and sells Glovo Ads placements in search results and homepage listings, so the order a customer sees at one address mixes paid slots with organic listings, and the only way to know where you land is to open the feed from that address. A branch with good ratings and no downtime can still sit below the first screen for the streets beside it, and no internal report says so.
Kitchain Visibility measures your position in Glovo's own listing from saved map points at set times of day, in the city's timezone, as whole-feed rank and rank within your cuisine, with the competitor cards above you: rating, promotion, delivery fee and quoted time. This is not Google SEO. Visibility runs per account: name the Glovo cities, brands and map points that matter.

Glovo delivery coverage by district: Kitchain Coverage
Configured per account
Glovo prices delivery by distance, with night-time surcharges in some cities, and publishes no delivery-radius rule for partners: the cost on a restaurant order is fixed in the store agreement, but the zone a customer sees is whatever the app shows at that hour and address. Spain's March 2026 withdrawal from more than 60 towns took whole areas off that map, and a district can stay orderable while its quoted wait climbs until customers pick whichever brand Glovo shows as faster.
Kitchain Coverage captures, zone by zone, whether your brand is orderable on Glovo and the delivery time quoted there, for the hour you book against a monthly allowance. It is not continuous, sends no alerts, and the quoted time is what Glovo shows, not the real delivery time. Coverage is configured per account for the Glovo cities you name, alongside competing brands: tell us the cities and the hours worth measuring, and the first grid is booked against this month's allowance.

Frequently asked questions
Does Kitchain need access to our Glovo Manager Portal or order tablets?
No. Kitchain never signs in to the Manager Portal and installs nothing on your tablets — it opens the same public pages a customer opens. Setup takes about 10 minutes: one Glovo listing URL or restaurant ID per location, no integrations.
What happens to Glovo monitoring if Uber completes its takeover of Delivery Hero?
Nothing changes while the Glovo app keeps running, because Kitchain reads its public listings rather than any owner's systems. Uber's offer is open until 5 November 2026, and any transfer of markets comes later without altering the pages a customer sees. Kitchain already monitors Uber Eats, so a later migration would be covered.
How does Kitchain handle Glovo's Verified Reviews and the separate food and delivery scores?
Where Glovo shows separate food and delivery scores, Kitchain reports only the figures on the public page; it does not read review text, photos or the AI dish summaries. If Verified Reviews changes the number displayed in your market, the history keeps both sides of the change, so the step is visible rather than looking like a slide. Replying stays in the Manager Portal.
Can Kitchain tell us whether our Glovo Ads or Glovo Prime placement is actually visible?
Partly, and only from the customer's side. Kitchain Promo records the discount and free-delivery labels visible on your Glovo card once a day, so a label that stops showing is caught on the next capture. Kitchain Visibility measures your position at the same map points and times before and after a paid placement, which answers whether it moved you. Kitchain does not see your Ads spend.
Facts about Glovo are as of August 2026 and drawn from public company and press sources. Markets, ownership and partner tools change; confirm with Glovo before relying on them. Kitchain is independent of Glovo and reads only its public customer-facing pages.
