Monitor Your Restaurants on Ninja
Ninja is a Riyadh-based quick-commerce app that added a restaurant marketplace in July 2024 and delivers it with its own riders, 24/7. This page covers its four GCC markets, ownership and restaurant-side tools as of August 2026, and how Kitchain monitors a chain's Ninja branches from the outside, the way a customer sees them.

About Ninja
Ninja is a Saudi quick-commerce company founded in 2022 and headquartered in Riyadh. It launched in May 2022 as a dark-store grocery service and left stealth that December; by February 2026 it served more than 35 Saudi cities and governorates, with an average delivery time under 20 minutes. In July 2025 it closed a $254M pre-IPO round at a $1.5B valuation led by Riyad Capital, reporting revenues approaching $1B and operational profitability, and in May 2026 it mandated Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, UBS and Riyad Capital for a potential Riyadh IPO of roughly $1B. As of August 2026 it is privately held, with no parent group and no completed acquisitions.
The restaurant marketplace launched on 18 July 2024 in 15+ Saudi cities with free delivery above a minimum order, and the App Store listing claims 5,000+ restaurants. Restaurants work in a browser-based Ninja for Restaurants portal; no partner app is listed in either app store. Registration requires company documents and is reviewed before a listing goes live. Each branch carries its own working hours and a status — open, busy or closed — that can be set independently of that schedule. Listings are branch-level, titled 'Restaurant – City – District', and the customer sees nearby branches ranked around the delivery address.
In Saudi restaurant delivery the incumbents are HungerStation, Jahez, Keeta and Mrsool/ToYou; Ninja is the newcomer, and groceries remain its core strength. A reported approach for HungerStation and talabat in June 2026 did not produce a deal, and both now sit inside Uber's agreed takeover of Delivery Hero. In Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait Ninja competes as a grocery quick-commerce app against talabat mart and local players, while the restaurant marketplace it sells to chains remains a Saudi one.
Where Ninja operates
As of August 2026 Ninja operates in four GCC countries, each with a live storefront at ananinja.com: Saudi Arabia, its home market since 2022, plus Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait. Restaurant delivery is confirmed only in Saudi Arabia; the other three are grocery quick-commerce markets whose restaurant pages currently render Saudi branches and SAR prices, so a chain planning a Gulf rollout should check the app locally before counting on Ninja for food orders there.
| Country | Since | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia | 2022 | Home market; restaurant section since July 2024 in 15+ cities |
| Qatar | — | Live by mid-2024 or earlier; grocery confirmed, restaurant delivery not confirmed |
| Bahrain | — | Live by mid-2024 or earlier; grocery confirmed, restaurant delivery not confirmed |
| Kuwait | 2024 | Launched mid-2024; grocery confirmed, restaurant delivery an open question |
Ninja has not exited any market as of August 2026; all four countries it entered remain live.
Kitchain on Ninja: six monitors, one outside-in method
Kitchain reads the same public Ninja pages a customer opens. There is no partner-portal login, no API key and no point-of-sale integration: you give us one listing per location, and each monitor reads what the customer is shown. Availability is checked about every 10 minutes per listing; ratings, promotions and menus are captured daily; listing position is measured at set times of day from real addresses; delivery coverage is captured for the platform and hour you book.
Ninja downtime and availability alerts: Kitchain Alert
Live on Ninja
Ninja downtime is easy to miss from inside the branch. The Ninja for Restaurants portal runs in a browser and only rings if notifications and sounds are allowed; a branch can be set to 'busy until tomorrow' or 'close for maintenance', or left with an inactive working-hour slot after a schedule change. A customer choosing a delivery address then stops seeing that branch among the nearby restaurants, or sees it closed, and on an app that sells 24/7 a night shift can go dark unnoticed until morning.
Kitchain Alert opens the same public branch page a customer opens, about every 10 minutes per listing, 24/7. A location that drops out gets a confirmation check, and a typical alert reaches you 10–20 minutes after it went offline, by Email, WhatsApp or Telegram, with a daily report at 10:00 local time. Each outage is logged with its start and end, so the length of a Ninja outage is a measurement you can put in front of the platform, not an estimate.

Ninja rating tracking: Kitchain Rating
Connected on request
Ninja's web listing shows no customer star rating: the branch page carries cuisine tags and offer labels but no score, and whether the mobile app shows a per-branch rating has not been verified. The score Ninja carries in the app stores is the rating of the app itself, not of your branch, and the two are easily confused. Rating tracking on Ninja therefore starts with a check of what is actually published for your branches; where a platform does show a rating and a review count, Kitchain Rating collects both daily and keeps the history, so a decline has a start date. Until a branch score appears, the Ninja signals worth watching are the offer tag, the quoted wait and the distance on the card.
Ninja rating tracking is connected on request: tell us the cities and brands you run there, and we set it up alongside the availability checks.

Ninja promotion monitoring: Kitchain Promo
Connected on request
Ninja promotions are built in the portal's Marketing section: a 'Restaurant Discount' and a 'Platform Discount' field for co-funded offers, minimum-quantity item deals, and a 'Request New Ad Banner' option for sponsored placement. Customers see them as tags on the card and menu — 'Ninja Exclusive Offer', 'Free Delivery' above the minimum order, and percentage or second-item deals with strike-through prices — plus an 'Ad' badge on sponsored restaurants. The platform-funded share of a discount ends and the tag drops off one branch, a banner you requested never runs, or a discount shows at a different value from the one agreed, and Ninja sales soften while your own systems report nothing wrong.
Kitchain Promo captures what a customer sees once a day per location, on the same visit as the availability check, and benchmarks the discounts competitors run in the same area. Promotion monitoring on Ninja is connected on request; send us the cities and brands you run there.

Where you rank in the Ninja listing: Kitchain Visibility
Configured per account
Ninja ranks restaurants around the delivery address a customer picks: the nearby list shows each branch's distance in kilometres, a delivery estimate such as 25–35 min, minimum order, delivery fee and cuisine tags, with paid placements mixed into the same feed and cuisine filter pages for American, Arabic, Asian or bakery. Because availability appears to be radius-based and listings are per branch, your Ninja listing position differs from one street to the next, and a city-wide average hides the districts where a customer never scrolls far enough to find you. Kitchain Visibility measures your position from saved map points at set times of day in the city's own timezone, records your rank in the whole feed and within your cuisine, and captures the competitor cards above you, sponsored ones included. This is the platform's own ordering, not Google SEO.
Visibility is set up per account for the cities and platforms you name, Ninja included.

Ninja delivery coverage by district: Kitchain Coverage
Configured per account
Ninja delivers with its own riders and promises 30 minutes or less, and every branch card quotes a wait before the customer orders; the exact radius is not published, and which branch serves which district follows from where the customer stands. That leaves a chain guessing at its real Ninja delivery zone: an outer district may be served at 15:00 and missing at 21:00 on a Friday, or served but quoted a wait long enough that the order goes elsewhere. Kitchain Coverage measures, zone by zone, whether each brand is orderable on Ninja and what delivery time is quoted, from captures you book for the platform and hour that matter, against a monthly allowance. It is not continuous and sends no alerts, and the quoted time is what Ninja shows, not how long the order took.
Coverage runs per account: name the cities and platforms, Ninja among them, and the zones are set up.

Frequently asked questions
Our branches are listed per district on Ninja — what does that mean for a chain?
Ninja lists each branch separately, not the brand, and a customer only sees branches near the delivery address they have chosen. The radius behind that is not published, so one branch can be missing from half a district while the rest of the city sees your other branches as normal. Uptime, menus and rank have to be counted per branch; a brand-level view averages the problem away.
How does a chain get listed on Ninja, and what does it cost?
Registration runs through the web portal: upload the Commercial Registration, VAT certificate, IBAN letter and National Address, wait for the review, and a sales representative contacts you. Menus are approved by an admin before they show. Commission rate and payout cadence are not published; figures seen inside the login-gated portal could not be verified, so ask the representative directly.
Is Ninja buying HungerStation or talabat?
No. Reports in June 2026 said Ninja was weighing a bid for HungerStation and a joint offer for talabat, but on 16 July 2026 Uber announced an agreed takeover of Delivery Hero, and the offer document published on 27 August 2026 keeps both in the Uber perimeter, with acceptance open until 5 November 2026 and settlement expected in the second half of 2027.
What does Kitchain need to start monitoring our Ninja branches?
One restaurant ID or listing URL per branch, the operating hours you want alerts to follow, and who should receive them; setup takes about 10 minutes and needs no integration. Kitchain never signs in to the Ninja portal or your POS: it reads the public Ninja listing, exactly as a customer would, and cannot open, close or edit anything.
Facts about Ninja are as of August 2026 and drawn from public company and press sources. Markets, ownership and partner tools change; confirm with Ninja before relying on them. Kitchain is independent of Ninja and reads only its public customer-facing pages.
