Monitor Your Restaurants on Wolt
Wolt is the Helsinki-founded delivery app DoorDash has owned since 2022, live in 30 countries as of August 2026 from Finland and Poland to Greece, Kazakhstan and Israel. In most of them it is the leading or co-leading app, so an offline venue or a campaign that never showed costs real orders. What follows is what a customer sees on wolt.com, and what Kitchain records from it.
Wolt at a glance
- Ownership: wholly owned subsidiary of DoorDash, Inc. (NASDAQ: DASH) since June 2022, run as a separate brand from DoorDash-owned Deliveroo, as of August 2026.
- Headquarters and founding: Helsinki, Finland; founded in 2014 (legal entity Wolt Enterprises Oy), app launched in Helsinki in 2015, courier delivery from 2016.
- Markets: 30 countries as of August 2026, including Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Greece, Romania and Israel.
- Delivers: restaurants, groceries from third-party supermarkets and its own Wolt Market stores, retail and non-food, and white-label delivery for merchants' own channels through Wolt Drive.
- Positioning: leading or co-leading restaurant delivery app in most of its markets, with a Danish share that rose from 50–60% to 70–80% over 2022–2024 per the Danish Competition Council, which ruled in August 2026 that it had abused that position.

What Kitchain watches on Wolt
About Wolt
Wolt was founded in Helsinki in October 2014 and launched its app there in 2015, first for pickup and pre-orders, with courier delivery added in 2016. It grew out of the Nordics and Baltics into Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the Caucasus, Kazakhstan and Israel, and in 2025 entered Romania by buying the Tazz platform from eMAG and rebranding it. DoorDash completed its all-stock acquisition of Wolt on 1 June 2022, and as of August 2026 Wolt is a wholly owned DoorDash subsidiary kept separate from Deliveroo, which DoorDash also owns and which covers Western Europe and the Middle East while Wolt covers the north and east of the continent.
Wolt now sells itself as a local commerce platform rather than a food app, so a restaurant listing sits in the same app as supermarkets, Wolt Market and non-food shops. Orders arrive in the Wolt Merchant app on a tablet or phone, while menus, prices, opening hours, Campaigns, Wolt Ads and analytics live in the web Merchant Portal. A venue can run on Wolt courier delivery, on self-delivery with its own delivery area and fee and Wolt couriers as backup, on pickup or on scheduled pre-orders, and which of those it uses changes what the public page shows a customer.
One regulatory finding bears directly on chain contracts. In August 2026 the Danish Competition Council ruled that Wolt had abused a dominant position in Denmark through a price-parity clause that stopped restaurants pricing lower on their own channels, and through unilateral customer refunds of up to DKK 400 per order charged to the restaurant; Wolt says those terms were changed after December 2025. The ruling binds Wolt in Denmark alone, so the step worth taking elsewhere is to read your own country's Wolt agreement for the equivalent clauses before the next renewal.

Kitchain on Wolt: six monitors, one outside-in method
Kitchain reads the same public Wolt pages a customer opens. There is no partner-portal login, no API key and no point-of-sale integration: you give us one listing per location, and each monitor reads what the customer is shown. Availability is checked about every 10 minutes per listing; ratings, promotions and menus are captured daily; listing position is measured at set times of day from real addresses; delivery coverage is captured for the platform and hour you book.
Wolt downtime and availability alerts: Kitchain Alert
Live on Wolt
On Wolt a venue stops selling in ways that look identical from head office. A manager toggles it Offline in the Wolt Merchant app and it vanishes from customers entirely; the page shows 'Closed' or 'Ordering paused'; the venue is shown closed at an hour your schedule says open; or Wolt itself shows 'Wolt is really busy right now' and may fall back to pickup only. Kitchain Alert opens the public wolt.com venue page of every location about every 10 minutes, 24/7, and reads it exactly as a customer would.
A confirmed Wolt downtime alert reaches the branch and the operations lead by email, WhatsApp or Telegram, typically 10–20 minutes after the venue goes offline, judged against that location's own hours and timezone, so a scheduled close in Tallinn is not an incident. Each outage is logged with start, end and duration for compensation claims, and a daily report lands at 10:00 local time.

Wolt rating tracking: Kitchain Rating
Live on Wolt
Wolt scores venues out of 10 rather than five stars: after each order the customer rates the venue on a 1–10 scale, delivery is rated separately so the venue score reflects food and service only, and individual items get a thumbs up or down. The public venue page shows an aggregate score out of 10 with the rating count alongside it, or 'Not rated yet' for a new venue. Kitchain Rating collects that score and count for every location daily and keeps the history, so a slow slide across six weeks gets a start date you can line up against a packaging change or a change of head chef. The dashboard puts every Wolt venue beside its listings on other platforms, flags those under the threshold you set, and shows whether a weak score rests on a dozen ratings or on hundreds. Kitchain never reads review text or the Merchant Portal — only the score and count the venue page shows.

Wolt promotion monitoring: Kitchain Promo
Live on Wolt
Wolt promotions are built in the Merchant Portal under Campaigns: percentage or amount discounts with an optional minimum subtotal, free delivery, and free or discounted items such as buy-one-get-one, paid for only on confirmed orders. A live campaign earns a promo badge and a place in the 'Offers near you' carousel. Failures are silent: a campaign set up centrally goes live at 38 venues and not the 39th, or an offer ends a day early and nobody is told. The Danish Competition Council also found that Wolt applied its own campaign discounts to restaurants' meals without telling the restaurants.
Kitchain Promo reads each venue's public page once a day, on the same visit as the availability check, and records whether the promo badge is showing on the venue card, whether the venue reaches that carousel, and what Fire Deals or other Wolt Ads offers a customer is shown. A missing expected offer raises an alert, 'no promotions today' is recorded as a fact, and nearby competitors are captured too.

Where you rank in the Wolt listing: Kitchain Visibility
Configured per account
Open Wolt at two addresses in the same city and the Discovery feed and the search results are not the same: different venues, in a different order. Each card carries the venue's rating, the quoted delivery time, the delivery fee and any offer running. Paid tiles sit in that same feed, because Sponsored Listings and other Wolt Ads placements run in the Discovery tab, in search results and on venue pages, each carrying a 'Sponsored' label. So a venue with strong ratings and full hours can still sit below the first screen for the residential district next door, and nothing in its sales figures says why.
Kitchain Visibility measures your position in the Wolt listing from saved map points at set times of day in the city's timezone, as whole-feed rank and rank within your cuisine, and records the competitor cards above you. This is not Google SEO. Visibility is set up per account for the cities and platforms you name; tell us which Wolt cities matter.

Wolt delivery coverage by district: Kitchain Coverage
Configured per account
For Wolt-delivered venues Wolt sets the delivery area and does not publish the rules; self-delivery venues set their own area and fee, with Wolt couriers as backup. A customer outside the area sees 'The restaurant isn't delivering to your location'; inside it they see a 'Delivery in X–Y min' estimate, the delivery fee and the distance in km, and none of these is fixed through the day: when couriers run short the page can post a courier-capacity warning and offer pickup only.
Kitchain Coverage captures, zone by zone across a city, whether each brand can be ordered on Wolt and the delivery time quoted there. Captures are booked per platform and per hour against a monthly allowance, so Friday dinner in Warsaw is measured at Friday dinner rather than averaged. It is not continuous and sends no alerts, and the quoted time is what Wolt shows, not how long the order took. Coverage runs per account: tell us the cities, platforms and hours worth measuring.

Frequently asked questions
Which Wolt markets can Kitchain monitor?
Any market where your venue has a public page on wolt.com, including the countries Wolt added in 2025: Kosovo, North Macedonia, Romania and Bulgaria. Setup is per venue URL rather than per country and takes about 10 minutes for a location, so adding a city means adding its links.
Some of our Wolt venues run on self-delivery. Does Coverage still tell us anything?
Yes, though it reads the result rather than the rule: a zone that returns nothing looks the same whether your own boundary excluded it or Wolt's did. What you get is the edge as customers meet it, zone by zone, with the delivery time and fee quoted inside it — the version worth taking into a conversation about radius.
How does Kitchain handle Wolt's 10-point rating next to five-star platforms?
Each score is recorded as the platform displays it, so a Wolt venue is tracked out of 10 beside a five-star score elsewhere, with the rating count next to both. Thresholds are set per platform, and the useful comparison is your Wolt venues against each other and over time, not a converted number.
What happens to monitoring when a venue's wolt.com address changes?
Monitoring is tied to the venue URL, so a new slug reads like a venue that has vanished: the old page stops resolving and an alert follows. Send us the new links and the history continues under the same location. A rebrand can do this to a whole country at once, as Romania's Tazz pages became Wolt pages in 2025.
Facts about Wolt are as of August 2026 and drawn from public company and press sources. Markets, ownership and partner tools change; confirm with Wolt before relying on them. Kitchain is independent of Wolt and reads only its public customer-facing pages.
