About Snoonu
Snoonu was founded in Qatar in 2019 and launched its app in Doha the same year, growing from food delivery into a multi-vertical super app that now spans groceries, pharmacy, retail, courier, laundry and home services from its base in Lusail. In July 2025 Saudi-listed Jahez Group agreed to buy 76.56% of the company for USD 245m, valuing it at about USD 320m. The purchase was completed in October 2025; Snoonu has been consolidated in Jahez's accounts since the fourth quarter of 2025, and Jahez has designated it the Group's primary platform for international markets. Founder Hamad Al-Hajri retains 23.44%.
Jahez reported Snoonu's 2025 gross merchandise value at SAR 2.36bn, up 66% year on year, on 27.1 million orders, with an order frequency of 7.6 and an average order value of SAR 87. In Qatar's food-delivery market Sensor Tower counted 193.7K active Snoonu users at the end of 2025, second to Talabat's 422.8K and ahead of Keeta, Rafeeq and Ninja. Snoonu runs its own rider fleet through the Falcon Flex driver app, so a restaurant only prepares the order and never sees the delivery leg, and its separate Snoonu Prime service delivers for premium and fine-dining restaurants.
For restaurant partners the working surface is a web merchant portal for campaigns and analytics, the 'Snoonu Portal' order app and the 'Snoonu for Business' owner app, which covers hours, closures, pausing the store, menu edits and switching between locations. Commission rates are not published. On the customer side every restaurant card carries an estimated delivery time in minutes, cuisine tags, promo badges and a five-star rating with no review count, with a 'Closed' label when the store is closed; the order of the cards is personalised.
Where Snoonu operates
As of August 2026 Snoonu lists restaurants in three GCC countries. Qatar is the home market, served from a Doha storefront priced in QAR. Kuwait opened in phases from late April 2026, with restaurants live from mid-May. It trades there under the framework Kuwait set in February 2026, which fixes platform fees and commissions for three years and bans forced exclusivity. Further rules issued in July 2026 cap total platform charges at 17% of order value, 10% for merchants who deliver themselves, and the delivery fee at KD 1, with a compliance deadline of 1 September 2026. Jahez's own Kuwait app continues alongside Snoonu there. Oman is still a soft launch: the OMR storefront is open, but restaurant coverage arrives city by city.
| Country | Since | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Qatar | 2019 | Home market; Doha storefront in QAR; number two behind Talabat. |
| Kuwait | 2026 | Restaurants live since May 2026; 17% charge cap from Sept 2026. |
| Oman | 2026 | Soft launch since 2026; OMR storefront live, restaurant coverage city by city. |
Snoonu has not exited any market as of August 2026.
Kitchain on Snoonu: six monitors, one outside-in method
Kitchain reads the same public Snoonu pages a customer opens. There is no partner-portal login, no API key and no point-of-sale integration: you give us one listing per location, and each monitor reads what the customer is shown. Availability is checked about every 10 minutes per listing; ratings, promotions and menus are captured daily; listing position is measured at set times of day from real addresses; delivery coverage is captured for the platform and hour you book.
Snoonu downtime and availability alerts: Kitchain Alert
Live on Snoonu
On Snoonu a location that has stopped selling looks the same from head office whether the branch paused the store in the Snoonu for Business app, a special closure outlived a holiday, or the card shows 'Closed' while the kitchen is open. With no courier of your own to watch, order flow is the only signal head office has, and a quiet evening is indistinguishable from downtime on that listing.
Kitchain Alert opens the public Snoonu page for each location about every 10 minutes, 24/7, on whichever storefront the listing sits on, snoonu.com, kwt.snoonu.com or omn.snoonu.com, and confirms before it raises an alarm, so a typical alert reaches you by Email, WhatsApp or Telegram 10–20 minutes after the listing goes offline. Every outage is logged with start and end times per location, a daily report follows at 10:00 local time, and a weekday-by-hour grid shows whether the same Snoonu shift keeps dropping. Alert already runs on Snoonu; for the wider market, see the Kuwait delivery downtime report.

Snoonu rating tracking: Kitchain Rating
Connected on request
Snoonu shows a five-star rating to one decimal on every restaurant card – 4.4, 4.6 – and no review count beside it. That makes the rating both easier to track and less forgiving: a customer choosing between two shawarma cards in Doha sees only the number, and a branch that drifts from 4.5 to 4.1 over a month has no visible review volume to soften it. With the count hidden, a new listing's number can swing a full point on a handful of orders, and nothing on the card warns a customer – or your marketing team – that it rests on almost nothing.
Kitchain Rating collects the rating each platform displays publicly, daily and per location, and lines the history up against the week a menu, a packaging supplier or a branch manager changed. Snoonu does not show a review count, so on this platform the history is of the rating alone. On Snoonu, Rating is connected on request: tell us the cities and brands and we set it up.

Snoonu promotion monitoring: Kitchain Promo
Connected on request
Snoonu promotions live on the card. A customer scrolling the restaurants tab sees badges such as 'Free Delivery' and 'Support Local', and can narrow the whole list to the Free Delivery cards. A campaign your team created in the Snoonu merchant portal for every branch can be live on the card in West Bay and absent from the one in Al Rayyan with nothing on your side reporting it; the branch simply trades softer, and the platform-wide noise of Snoonu Red Deals makes the gap harder to spot from the outside.
Kitchain Promo reads each Snoonu card daily, one capture per location riding on the same visit that checks availability, records 'no promotions today' as a fact, flags an expected offer that has gone missing, and benchmarks the discounts the competitors around each branch are showing. It cannot create or restore a campaign. Promo on Snoonu is connected on request; send us the brands and cities you want captured.

Where you rank in the Snoonu listing: Kitchain Visibility
Configured per account
Position in the Snoonu listing is local and personalised. Snoonu orders the restaurants tab by recommendation rather than by rating or distance alone, so what a customer in Salmiya sees at 20:00 is not what your marketing manager sees in Kuwait City at noon, and on kwt.snoonu.com a chain that arrived in May 2026 competes with McDonald's and Papa John's for the first screen. Because the feed is personalised, a single look at the app proves nothing: position on Snoonu only means something sampled from the same points at the same hours.
Kitchain Visibility measures the position a brand takes in Snoonu's own listing from saved map points at set times of day, in the city's timezone, as rank in the whole feed and within its cuisine, and records the competitor cards above it with their rating, badge and quoted delivery time. It is not Google SEO. Visibility is configured per account: name the cities and platforms and the points are set up.

Snoonu delivery coverage by district: Kitchain Coverage
Configured per account
On Snoonu what a customer can order depends on the delivery address they enter: the storefront rebuilds the restaurants list for that point, so availability is an address-level question rather than a radius on paper – which is why an Omani address outside the launch cities can return no restaurants. Snoonu owning the fleet does not settle it: a zone drawn in a contract says nothing about whether your branch is offered to a customer in Al Wakrah on a Friday evening, or what wait the card quotes them there.
Kitchain Coverage captures, zone by zone, whether a brand is available on Snoonu and the delivery time the platform quotes to a customer in that zone, for the platform and hour you book against a monthly allowance. It is deliberately not continuous and sends no alerts, and the quoted time is what Snoonu shows, not how long the order really took. Coverage is set up per account for the cities you name.

Frequently asked questions
What commission does Snoonu charge restaurants?
Snoonu does not publish commission rates. It is a commission-based marketplace that delivers with its own fleet, so the delivery leg is part of what you are paying for, and onboarding runs through its partner site, join.snoonu.com. The only hard numbers anywhere are Kuwait's statutory caps on total platform charges, which bind every platform in that market rather than Snoonu alone.
Is Snoonu live for restaurants in Oman?
Only where Jahez says so. Its half-year release puts Snoonu in Nizwa from the second quarter of 2026 and Sohar from July, with Muscat after the soft-launch phase, and no news outlet has corroborated those cities. Treat Oman as active but unverified city by city until your own listing appears on omn.snoonu.com.
How does Kitchain monitor Snoonu without logging in to the merchant portal?
It does not need to. Kitchain opens the same public Snoonu pages a customer opens, on the Qatar, Kuwait or Oman storefront, and records what they show: whether the card is orderable, the rating, the badges, the menu and its prices. Setup takes about 10 minutes with one restaurant ID or listing URL per location, there are no integrations, and Kitchain never changes anything on the platform.
Snoonu delivers with its own riders – what can a chain still control?
Everything on the card before the order: opening hours and special closures, whether the store is paused, the menu and its prices, and the badges a campaign puts on your listing, all set per location in Snoonu's merchant tools. The delivery leg is Snoonu's through its Falcon Flex fleet, so your team never sees the courier and a slow delivery is a conversation with the platform, not the branch.
