Monitor Your Restaurants on TheChefz in Saudi Arabia

TheChefz is Riyadh's premium delivery app for fine dining, desserts, coffee and gifting, and as of August 2026 it trades in Saudi Arabia only. It is independent and privately held: the Jahez takeover signed in 2022 lapsed in 2023. This page covers its markets, its restaurant-side tools and how Kitchain monitors a chain's branches on it.

TheChefz at a glance

  • Ownership: independent and privately held as of August 2026, co-founded by Abdulrahman Alshabanat and Abdulrahman Al-Marshad; the SAR 650m sale to Jahez signed in November 2022 lapsed in November 2023, so it is not a Jahez company.
  • Headquarters: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; founded 2016 and operated by Best Chefs Company for Meal Delivery LLC.
  • Markets: one country, Saudi Arabia, with Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Dammam, Khobar and Abha among the cities listed.
  • Delivers: curated restaurants, desserts and cakes, speciality coffee, flowers and gifts, perfumes, butchers, home chefs and catering, plus table reservations.
  • Positioning: a niche premium challenger to HungerStation, Jahez, Keeta and Ninja; app-only ordering, its own driver fleet, and since 2025 distribution through Nana and Careem.
  • Kitchain on TheChefz: live for Alert; Rating, Promo, Menu connected on request; Visibility and Coverage configured per account.

About TheChefz

TheChefz was founded in Riyadh in 2016 by Abdulrahman Alshabanat and Abdulrahman Al-Marshad and is operated by Best Chefs Company for Meal Delivery LLC. Jahez signed a SAR 650 million share purchase agreement for the company in November 2022 that was terminated after the 31 October 2023 long-stop date passed without the deal's conditions being met, which Jahez announced on 1 November 2023. As of August 2026 TheChefz is independent and privately held, and the shareholder structure left by the lapsed deal has not been published: the last public cap table is the list of selling shareholders in that agreement, the two founders among them.

For a restaurant, TheChefz is app-only: the website is a directory that lists each branch with its Arabic and English names, address and menu items in SAR, then tells the customer to install the app to order. Partners apply through a three-step form (store details, company and IBAN, official papers), accept or decline orders in the Chefz Restaurant Android app, which also has a Busy Mode for rush hours, and manage Stories, campaigns, ratings and invoices in The Chefz Insight. Since 2025 the same catalogue is also exposed inside Nana and Careem, so one listing can take orders from three apps.

Scale is hard to pin down from official sources: the website claims more than 12,429 restaurants while a banner on the same page says 3,000+. The shape of the marketplace is clearer. It signs up eleven store types, from restaurants and cake shops to coffee, flowers, perfumes, butchers, home chefs, catering and reservations; it takes Mada, cards, Apple Pay, Tamara and cash on delivery; and it delivers on its own crowd-sourced fleet through The Chefz Driver app. For a chain that means a branch competing inside a curated category rather than in a mass-market feed.

Where TheChefz operates

As of August 2026 TheChefz operates in exactly one country, Saudi Arabia, and no other market has been found. Its listings run from Riyadh through Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah, Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran and Al Ahsa, down to Abha, Khamis Mushait and Jazan, with Tabuk and Buraydah in Qassim also listed on the website. Monitoring is per branch rather than per brand: each listing is checked, rated, priced and ranked on its own, because a Riyadh branch and a Jazan branch fail in different ways and on different days.

CountrySinceNotes
Saudi Arabia2016Only market: Central, Western, Eastern and Southern regions plus Qassim, Tabuk

No launch outside Saudi Arabia has been found, so there are no exited markets; the app is downloadable in the Jordan App Store, but its description lists only Saudi regions.

Kitchain on TheChefz: six monitors, one outside-in method

Kitchain reads the same public TheChefz pages a customer opens. There is no partner-portal login, no API key and no point-of-sale integration: you give us one listing per location, and each monitor reads what the customer is shown. Availability is checked about every 10 minutes per listing; ratings, promotions and menus are captured daily; listing position is measured at set times of day from real addresses; delivery coverage is captured for the platform and hour you book.

TheChefz downtime and availability alerts: Kitchain Alert

Live on TheChefz

On TheChefz a branch that stops selling is easy to miss from head office. The website keeps showing the branch's menu and SAR prices while, inside the app, the store is closed or unorderable. The causes are mundane: a Busy Mode switched on in the Chefz Restaurant app during a Friday rush and never switched off, a tablet powered down at closing, or a store marked closed while your schedule says open.

Kitchain Alert already runs on TheChefz. Each branch is checked about every 10 minutes, 24/7, from the public storefront a customer sees; a TheChefz downtime alert typically arrives 10–20 minutes after a location goes offline, after a confirmation check, by Email, WhatsApp or Telegram, following that branch's own Saudi opening hours. The incident timeline records each outage's start, end and duration; the 10:00 daily report ranks branches by lost uptime.

TheChefz rating tracking: Kitchain Rating

Connected on request

TheChefz rates stores on a five-star scale: the public storefront card a customer sees for a branch carries a star rating, a review count and a Now open label — 4.8 from 3,906 reviews on one city card — while the branch's bare web directory page shows no rating. Customers rate stores in the app, and the terms state the platform is not responsible for the result. The Chefz Insight reports a partner's own order ratings and analytics; what decides whether a customer taps your card is the number on that public card, and only a daily outside-in capture gives it a history.

Kitchain Rating collects that card's rating and review count daily for every branch, so a decline has a start date to line up against a packaging change or a new driver mix, and a 5.0 on twelve reviews is not mistaken for evidence. TheChefz rating monitoring is connected on request: tell us the cities and brands.

TheChefz promotion monitoring: Kitchain Promo

Connected on request

Promotions on TheChefz live inside the app: the consumer app advertises exclusive offers, partners publish Stories and run marketing campaigns through The Chefz Insight, and curated brands are featured in the app itself. None of this appears on the website, so the only way to know whether a Ramadan gifting offer or an Eid cake bundle is actually visible is to open the app as a customer in that city. That is where campaigns fail quietly: a Story that expired a day early, an offer configured for three branches that shows on two, a discount entered as 25% and displayed as 15%. Nothing errors, and a weak week gets blamed on the season.

Kitchain Promo captures what is visible once a day per branch and platform, on the same visit as the availability check, records a no-promotions-today as a fact, and benchmarks the dessert, coffee and dining brands discounting in the same area. TheChefz promotions are monitored on request: send us the cities and brands.

Where you rank in TheChefz listings: Kitchain Visibility

TheChefz's web city listings show a card per store with a star rating, a review count and a Now open label, and the app organises supply by the four Saudi regions and by store category. On a platform curating fine dining, desserts and coffee the contest is within a category: a speciality coffee brand competes with other coffee brands, not a flower shop. TheChefz publishes nothing about how it decides placement, and no sponsored-listing label was seen on its public web listings, so position has to be measured from outside: what can be measured is where a brand actually lands.

Kitchain Visibility measures your TheChefz listing position from saved map points at set times of day in Saudi time, reports whole-feed rank and rank within your cuisine, and records the competitor cards above you with their rating and offer. This is the platform's own ordering, not Google SEO. Visibility is configured per account; name the cities and the points that matter and they are set up.

TheChefz delivery coverage by district: Kitchain Coverage

TheChefz publishes no delivery radius or zone rules: coverage is described by region, deliveries run on its own crowd-sourced fleet through The Chefz Driver app, and orders can be delivered, collected or scheduled with live tracking. The August 2026 app release added instant customer alerts for weather and traffic delays, a reminder that the delivery time quoted in Dammam on a Friday evening is not the Tuesday-afternoon one. Head office cannot tell which outer Riyadh districts see a branch as orderable at peak, or where the quoted wait has drifted past an hour and orders move to a faster competitor.

Kitchain Coverage measures TheChefz delivery zone availability and the quoted delivery time district by district, from captures you book for the platform and hour that matter, against a monthly allowance; it is not continuous and sends no alerts, and the quoted time is what the app shows, not how long the order took. Coverage is configured per account for the cities and platforms you name.

Frequently asked questions

Does Kitchain work on TheChefz when ordering is app-only and the website is just a directory?

Yes. A branch is read the way an ordinary customer reads it, so where the orders are placed is not an obstacle, and Kitchain never signs in to the partner tools, the Chefz Restaurant app or your POS. Setup needs one listing URL or restaurant ID per branch and takes about 10 minutes for a chain.

Our TheChefz catalogue is also sold inside Careem and Nana. Does that change what we monitor?

Kitchain monitors the listing on TheChefz itself, and that listing is the catalogue those channels are built on, so its status is the one to watch first. Careem is also a platform Kitchain monitors in its own right, so a chain listed there directly can watch both storefronts side by side on one status board.

Can Kitchain see our TheChefz commission, invoices or the metrics in The Chefz Insight?

No. TheChefz does not publish commission rates, and Kitchain never opens The Chefz Insight, the partner portal, invoices or order data. It reads only what a customer can see: whether a branch is orderable, the rating and review count on the card, the items and SAR prices, the offers and the quoted delivery time.

Which TheChefz cities can be covered for a chain with branches across the Kingdom?

Wherever the app lists your branch, across all four regions plus Tabuk and Qassim. Availability, ratings, promotions and menus are tracked per branch; Visibility and Coverage are set up per account for the cities you name. Forty branches in Riyadh and two in Abha are handled the same way.

Facts about TheChefz are as of August 2026 and drawn from public company and press sources. Markets, ownership and partner tools change; confirm with TheChefz before relying on them. Kitchain is independent of TheChefz and reads only its public customer-facing pages.
