Monitor Your Restaurants on HungerStation
HungerStation is Saudi Arabia's first food delivery app, founded in 2012 and wholly owned by Delivery Hero SE as of August 2026. Saudi Arabia is its only market, and the group's revenue there passed EUR 1bn in 2024. What follows is the platform as an operator meets it: who owns it, where it sells, which partner tools set a listing, and what Kitchain sees from the customer's side.

About HungerStation
HungerStation launched in 2012, before any other food delivery app in the Kingdom, and is headquartered in Riyadh. Delivery Hero took control through its foodpanda acquisition and bought the remaining 37% of Hungerstation Holding in June 2023 for EUR 276.8m, so as of August 2026 the platform is a wholly owned Delivery Hero subsidiary. The Saudi operating entity is HungerStation Ltd, and partner onboarding runs through partner.hungerstation.com, where Saudi Arabia is the only country option and each chain is assigned an account manager once the commercial registration, tax certificate and branch coordinates are approved.
The app has grown into what Delivery Hero calls an everyday app. Alongside restaurants it runs its own dark-store grocery service, HungerStation Market, delivers from third-party supermarkets and pharmacies, sells flowers and gifts, and offers customer pickup. Orders are carried by HungerStation's own rider network, so restaurants do not need drivers of their own. The HungerStation Plus subscription gives unlimited free delivery, and subscribers now generate 63% of Saudi GMV, the highest subscription penetration in the Delivery Hero group. For a restaurant chain that matters: whether a branch qualifies for Plus free delivery shapes both its visibility in the app and the demand it sees.
Competition in the Kingdom is intense. Momentum Works estimates reported by Arab News put Keeta in second place at about 33% of the Saudi food delivery market at the end of 2025, on the back of heavy free-delivery subsidies, with Jahez above 20%; Ninja, ToYou, Mrsool and The Chefz compete for the rest. Neither talabat, Delivery Hero's other Gulf brand, nor Uber Eats operates in Saudi Arabia, and talabat redirects Saudi users to HungerStation. Delivery Hero's Q2 2026 results described an outstanding quarter for Saudi Arabia, with accelerating GMV growth and significant margin improvement.
Where HungerStation operates
As of August 2026 HungerStation operates in a single country: Uber's July 2026 offer announcement names the business it is buying as Hungerstation (Saudi Arabia), with no second market attached. Coverage inside the Kingdom is counted two ways: 102+ cities and regions in the App Store listing, and 115 regions in HungerStation's own restaurant directory. Beneath those sit the district pages a customer actually browses, 171 of them in Riyadh alone.
| Country | Since | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia | 2012 | Sole market; 55,000+ restaurants and stores listed |
HungerStation once served Bahrain as a secondary market, but Delivery Hero now lists the brand for Saudi Arabia only and serves Bahrain through talabat; no exit announcement has been found.
Kitchain on HungerStation: six monitors, one outside-in method
Kitchain reads the same public HungerStation pages a customer opens. There is no partner-portal login, no API key and no point-of-sale integration: you give us one listing per location, and each monitor reads what the customer is shown. Availability is checked about every 10 minutes per listing; ratings, promotions and menus are captured daily; listing position is measured at set times of day from real addresses; delivery coverage is captured for the platform and hour you book.
HungerStation downtime and availability alerts: Kitchain Alert
Live on HungerStation
HungerStation downtime is usually silent from the inside. Orders are paused on the HungerStation tablet during a rush and never resumed, the opening times set in the Hungerstation Partner app drift from the shift rota, or a listing drops out of a district directory while its own page still loads. A customer in Riyadh sees the branch as closed, or not at all, and the order goes to the restaurant listed underneath you.
Kitchain Alert opens each HungerStation listing as a customer would, about every 10 minutes, 24/7, and confirms an outage before raising it; a typical alert reaches the right person by email, WhatsApp or Telegram 10–20 minutes after the branch goes offline. Every outage is logged with start, end and duration – the evidence to put in front of your HungerStation account manager when lost hours are disputed. A daily report at 10:00 local time ranks branches by lost uptime. See Kitchain's KSA delivery downtime report for the Saudi picture.

HungerStation rating tracking: Kitchain Rating
Live on HungerStation
The HungerStation app carries customer reviews and rating-based smart filters, so a branch whose rating slips does not simply look worse to the customers who reach it: it stops appearing in the filtered set they used to find it in. What HungerStation shows publicly – the rating, and the review count beside it where the app shows one – is what a customer weighs and what Kitchain records.
Kitchain Rating takes that reading daily for every branch and keeps the history. HungerStation rating monitoring in Kitchain then gives you a needs-attention list of branches under your target, a trend that dates the start of a slide, and a side-by-side view of the same kitchen on Jahez or Keeta, where a consistent gap points at delivery rather than the food. Kitchain does not read or answer review text; replying stays in your partner tools. A daily report arrives before the morning meeting with the week's biggest rise and fall.

HungerStation promotion monitoring: Kitchain Promo
Connected on request
HungerStation gives restaurants several promotional levers: in-app discounts and visibility campaigns from the Hungerstation Partner app, and strikethrough discounts and bundles through the Partner API, on top of the free delivery HungerStation Plus subscribers get. A chain running a payday or Ramadan campaign across 60 branches sets it up centrally, and the failure that costs money is the quiet one: a strikethrough discount pushed through that API lands on most outlets and silently misses a few, and nothing on the partner side reports the gap. On the customer's screen those branches look full price while Keeta and Jahez are discounting.
Kitchain Promo captures the HungerStation promotions a customer can see, once a day per branch on the same visit as the availability check, and reports what appeared, disappeared or changed value since the previous day, next to what nearby competitors are offering. On HungerStation it is connected on request: tell us the cities and brands you want covered and we will set it up.

Where you rank in the HungerStation listing: Kitchain Visibility
Configured per account
HungerStation lists restaurants by district, and its own directory splits Riyadh into 171 of them, so a brand can sit on the first screen in one district and be invisible three districts away. The HungerStation listing position a customer sees is decided at their location, not by a city-wide average, and it is the platform's own ordering of restaurants, not Google search. Competition is fought district by district, and which brands a customer meets before yours at a given address is only visible from the outside.
Kitchain Visibility measures your position in the HungerStation listing from saved map points in the cities you choose, at set times of day in Saudi time, and records whole-feed rank, rank within your cuisine and the competitor cards shown above you. Visibility is set up per account for the cities and platforms you name, typically Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam on HungerStation, Jahez and Keeta.

HungerStation delivery coverage by district: Kitchain Coverage
Configured per account
HungerStation delivers with its own rider fleet, so a branch's delivery zone is whatever the platform will serve from it at that hour, not the coordinates you gave at onboarding. HungerStation delivery coverage is decided zone by zone: an outer district you are available in on a quiet Tuesday afternoon is not necessarily one you are available in at Friday dinner, and a zone that still delivers can be quoted at over an hour, which is the point where customers order from the competitor next door instead.
Kitchain Coverage captures, zone by zone, whether each brand is available to order on HungerStation and the delivery time quoted where the platform shows one, for the platform and hour you book against a monthly allowance. It is not continuous and raises no alerts. Coverage is configured per account: name the Saudi cities and the platforms, and the zones are booked from there.

Frequently asked questions
Does Kitchain need access to my HungerStation Seller Portal, tablet or Partner API?
No. Kitchain never signs in to the Seller Portal, the Hungerstation Partner app or the Partner API, and it changes nothing on the platform. It opens the same public HungerStation pages a customer opens and records what they show. Setup takes about 10 minutes: one restaurant ID or listing URL per branch, no integrations.
We sell on HungerStation in Saudi Arabia and on talabat elsewhere in the Gulf. Can one monitor cover both?
Yes – one board covers both. Kitchain monitors HungerStation, talabat, Jahez, Keeta and more than 40 platforms in total, with alerts routed to each branch's own manager: the Riyadh branches report on HungerStation, the branches elsewhere in the Gulf on talabat, and head office reads a single uptime table for the whole region.
Which Saudi cities can Kitchain monitor on HungerStation?
Any city where a branch has a public HungerStation listing. Alert, Rating and Menu run per listing, so adding a city means sending us one listing URL or restaurant ID per branch and nothing else. Visibility and Coverage are configured per account: you name the cities and the points or zones to measure, typically the large ones where ranking and delivery radius decide order volume.
Will Uber's takeover of Delivery Hero change HungerStation for restaurant partners?
Not yet. Uber and Delivery Hero signed a business combination agreement on 16 July 2026, an all-cash offer recommended by both boards, and Uber's announcement names HungerStation among the businesses it would acquire rather than divest. The offer has not closed, so HungerStation remains a Delivery Hero subsidiary and Kitchain keeps monitoring it exactly as before.
Facts about HungerStation are as of August 2026 and drawn from public company and press sources. Markets, ownership and partner tools change; confirm with HungerStation before relying on them. Kitchain is independent of HungerStation and reads only its public customer-facing pages.
